GTA 6 vs GTA 5: Price, Specs, Gameplay & Release Date Showdown

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is expected to be released in this year's third or fourth quarter. With this game, Rockstar Games is returning to Vice City with a bigger and more detailed world than ever before, bringing significant advancements over its predecessor.

GTA 6 vs GTA 5 Price, Specs, Gameplay & Release Date Showdown

Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is one of the most awaited games this year. Compared to its predecessor, GTA 5, this next installment promises to bring major upgrades in visuals, character design, and gameplay elements. We now compare these two games in different factors, including pricing and system requirements, to new gameplay elements.

GTA 6 vs GTA 5: Expected price in India

The GTA 5 was initially priced at Rs 3,499 in 2013 for consoles and a year later was available for Rs 2,499 for PC. Over the years, it has seen various discounts in sales and promotional offers and is currently available for Rs 3,500 across all platforms. In contrast, GTA 6 is expected to come with a much higher price tag. Multiple leaks and rumours suggest the standard edition could be available for Rs 5,999 ($70) in India, while premium or special editions may go up to Rs 8,500 ($100).

GTA 6 vs GTA 5: System requirements

Like the previous title, GTA 6 is confirmed to be available initially for the latest generation consoles, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, with its eventual release on PC, GTA 6 will demand potent hardware as multiple rumours suggest that the minimum specs include a Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel i5-9600K CPU, alongside 16GB RAM, and a fast GPU like the RTX 3060. For best performance, players may at least need a Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, and RTX 4070, along with SSD support for faster boot-up and loading speeds.

GTA 6 vs GTA 5: Gameplay features

With the upcoming GTA 6, Rockstar is set to introduce Lucia, the series’ first-ever female protagonist, alongside a male lead. Unlike GTA 5’s trio – Michael, Franklin, and Trevor – GTA 6 will likely feature a dual-protagonist setup. Rockstar is also revamping the AI system. NPCs will act more realistically and many combat improvements are also expected, including enhanced police chases and stealth mechanics.

GTA 6 vs GTA 5: Release date and availability

As mentioned earlier, GTA 5 was first released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before making its way to newer consoles like PlayStation 4,5, and PC. Similarly, GTA 6 is going to take the same approach and will be initially available for consoles at the launch this year, and PC players might have to wait until 2027.
